UK Onshore Pipeline Legislation
Course Overview
The course describes the Government Departments and Non-Government agencies involved, the procedures to be followed, the authorisations that must be obtained and the duties that must be complied with. The course addresses all the relevant planning, major accident hazard and environmental protection legislation.
The course does not, however, address the occupational health and safety legislation that must be complied with when undertaking the construction, operation, inspection, maintenance or abandonment of pipelines (e.g. Noise at Work Regulation, Control of Substances Harmful to Health Regulations, Display Screen etc.) since training in this is normally addressed by a client’s own training providers. If required, the course could be extended upon agreement.
Course Objective
The aim of this one day course is to provide those whose work involves them in the planning, design, construction, commissioning and decommissioning of onshore oil and gas pipelines with an understanding of the UK legislation in respect of these activities.
