Course Overview
This course will look at how external corrosion is caused and how we can coat pipelines to prevent it from occurring. The course will take an in depth look at the principle and practical application of cathodic protection.
Course Objective
This course will enable the attendee to:
- Understand the principles of external corrosion and cathodic protection;
- Learn the different types of pipeline coatings, their limitations and how these are applied;
- Learn how cathodic protection systems are designed and how their effectiveness is measured;
- Understand the basics of stray current interference.

The course will be delivered from the Penspen office in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.
